“I don’t have time.” That’s one of the biggest reasons used for not working out. I get it. You have your 9 to 5 (which many people put in more time than scheduled). You have your family, your kids’ activities, your committee meetings, volunteer work and other necessary obligations.

Name: Sarah Jane ParkerState: WyomingWhen and why did you start working out?: I have been working out off and on since I was a teenager, but I didn’t really get serious about it until I was in college and I wanted to start getting serious about my fitness and health. I joined a gym, started doing group fitness classes and got hooked! What is your workout of choice?: Metabolic conditioning and metabolic resistance training. It’s such a good mix of weight lifting, cardio, bodyweight strength training, and plyometrics, it’s challenging and never gets boring. I have started to love running lately, but I will always love weight lifting. What is your favorite race, race distance, and WOD: My favorite race was the Survivor Mud Run my husband and a friend ran together last year

This last year I made it a goal to get out more…Apparently, in the fitness industry I’ve developed a reputation of being rather inaccessible, and now that my kids are a little older (they’re 6 and 4 now) travel is a little bit easier for me, so I’ve been able to make it out to a couple of events, and do a few more interviews than I normally would. And boy am I glad I did. This last week I met up with a guy named Vince Delmonte. I’ve known Vince for a while, but I don’t think I’ve actually interacted with him on any sort of one-on-one level. So when Vince emailed me and told me about a new project he was working on I decided it would be worth while for us to meet up.Long story short, while we were talking I mentioned that I’m still focused on helping people understand the benefits of fasting, and that my only goal is to make sure I put ‘pen to paper’. As an author, writing is the one thing I need to do to get my message out… There’s no real reason for me to research if I’m not going to write about it After hearing this Vince said “You’ve found your ONE thing, that’s awesome”

I Was Surprised How Easy It Was…. 1 Comment Monday, December 9th, 2013 Testimonial written by: Melissa C.Hi Robb,I happened upon your book about a month ago when browsing some health related material on my Nook. My two oldest kids (I have 4) do crossfit, and I heard about the Paleo Diet through the newsletters I would receive from the crossfit team. I never actually tried crossfit myself (funny that I would sign my kids up for it, right?) because I felt I was much too heavy and out of shape. An embarrassing story: A few months ago, the Crossfit Kids component had to move the location of their gym due to a fire.

In Memoriam: Mary Sydna Wolf 64 Comments Saturday, July 20th, 2013 My mom died last night at 8:30 after many ups and downs over the past few months when her health really took a turn. The reality of it all is slowly percolating through me…but we had ample time to say good-bye’s and be at peace with things. I never really got to say goodbye to my Dad so I’m grateful for that at least, although the past few months were really hard on my mom.Mom was born in Appleton Arkansas, June 18th 1941, right at the tail end of the dust-bowl and Great Depression. She was one of three kids.

The reason this particular scan was interesting is that I just completed almost 7 weeks of no workouts, and no fasting. For 7 weeks I ate normally – still higher protein, still responsibly, just a little higher than normal and without any fasting. I also did ZERO training. No weights, no body weight stuff, not a single pushup was done in 7 weeks.

Note: The following is an interview with Brad Pilon, who’s best known for his work on intermittent fasting and his book Eat Stop Eat. I’ve been a huge fan of Brad and his approach to fitness for years now ever since I read the first edition of Eat Stop Eat back in 2008 so it’s pretty awesome to interview him on my site. Hell, without Brad I would still probably be eating 6-8 meals per day.1) So for those that don’t know, can you give us a super quick rundown of what intermittent fasting is and what your approach (Eat Stop Eat) is all about?Intermittent fasting is really nothing more than learning to take periodic, planned breaks from eating.
