It’s Nike Training Club Week. Nike hold free NTC (Nike Training Club) classes across the UK a number of times a week, including Train to Run, Yoga, Run Clubs and the classic NTC full body workout class. This past week, they’ve been hosting daily free workouts, talks and workshops across London. They’re hosting them in other cities across the World during the rest of January (America is next week). The class on Wednesday was held at Equinox (aka the most incredible gym in London) and included a long warm up, followed by this Tabata workout

Saturday, January 11, 2014 I came to the reality the other day that I have been on Spark for almost 4 years. What a journey! I have come a long way but I’ve always given myself some grief that I never reached my goal weight. I was so close…just 5 pounds away

In Memoriam: Mary Sydna Wolf 64 Comments Saturday, July 20th, 2013 My mom died last night at 8:30 after many ups and downs over the past few months when her health really took a turn. The reality of it all is slowly percolating through me…but we had ample time to say good-bye’s and be at peace with things. I never really got to say goodbye to my Dad so I’m grateful for that at least, although the past few months were really hard on my mom.Mom was born in Appleton Arkansas, June 18th 1941, right at the tail end of the dust-bowl and Great Depression. She was one of three kids.

Eating six small meals a day instead of three large ones is supposed to be the way to go if you want to “stoke the metabolic fire” and lose weight. But not everyone has that kind of time.Often I get asked, “How can I eat six meals a day when I work so much?” That’s where intermittent fasting comes in.Intermittent fasting helps your body regulate leptin, a hormone directly related to fat loss that helps your thyroid work properly. Also, fasting improves insulin sensitivity, which is responsible for fat loss and muscle gain. (Learn about the benefits of carb back-loading.)After a fast, your body is more sensitive to insulin and uses foods consumed post-fast for burning fat and building muscle

Saturday, June 01, 2013 This week I read a SP article and blog on Tabata training. I have read about it before but never tried it. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1720 www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?post=the_4minute_miracle_workout_that_really_works So, after my trainer workout on Wed night I thought I would try it since I didn’t have a lot of time. I did 4 min on the arc trainer.

Hey guys! I totally forgot to update you all yesterday on how I’m doing with the 5 drink challenge. Probably because I was embarrassed that I totally blew it on Saturday night and didn’t want to fess up. But that’s what making this challenge public is for, right
