I thought you might like to know how we’re getting on with our intermittent fasting (or 5:2 fast diet) that we started in June this year just before we went on our cycling trip along the Danube.Well, it’s going wonderfully! I’ve lost the 5 kilos I put back on after my initial diet three years ago when I lost 20 kilos, despite the fact that I am now eating a lot of foods I had thought I’d have to give up forever.I actually look forward to our fast days, when I have 500 calories and Jean Michel has 600, and which we plan according to what’s going on that week but which are usually 3 or 4 days apart. Mondays and Thursdays or Fridays are typical choices, but the beauty of the 5:2 fast is that there are no fixed days.  We continue to always eat the same thing on those days, as it suits us that way.The amazing thing is that I am not hungry on fast days

I’ve been going to a Brazilian Jiujitsu class run by MMA fighter Ray Elbe. In addition to Jiujitsu, he runs a combat fitness class for women on Fridays. Yesterday, I decided to check it out. Mind Games I really enjoy trying new things, especially when it comes to different exercise classes. However, just because I enjoy it, doesn’t mean I don’t feel nervous before trying something new out.

We know you love it when we Shock Your Body–and we love it so much that we’re constantly researching the newest and most effective trends in the fitness world to do just that. With all of our recent class additions, its important to us that you guys–our amazing Fusionistas–know exactly what we’re up to, and why we are continually evolving to regularly add workshops and new classes.Something we’ve been working with for a while and incorporating into all of our instructor trainings is known in the fitness world as HIIT–High Intensity Interval Training. Add an ‘S’ to the beginning, and “oh ya, that’s what I’m thinking in my head during all those sneaker classes.” If you know us well, you know we like to make you cuss and grunt and sweat because we know just how to push you to your max, giving your bodies and minds the biggest challenge, release, and bang for your buck. What is HIIT?There are all sorts of names you may have heard–tabatas, fartleks, tempo runs, intervals–but they are all forms of High Intensity Interval Training–meaning alternating between high and low intensity intervals for the duration of your workout.
