Quite often, but in particular over the past couple weeks, we’ve received so many messages from you, our community members, telling us how much you love what we’re doing and how grateful you are that Girls Gone Strong is showing the world that being healthy and fit comes in many shapes and sizes.

True health and wellness includes taking care of your body and mind, eating good food, moving in a way that feels good to you… and falling in love with yourself as you do it.

In a world where the dominant message is usually the one that says our appearance determines our worth, getting large organizations to take notice and join us in spreading our message far and wide can (and will) change the world — today for you, and tomorrow for future generations. This is exactly what the Girls Gone Strong movement is doing, and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you!

With your continued support not only will more women gain the strength and confidence to live healthy and vibrant lives, future generations will grow up understanding what strong, healthy bodies look like, and they will know that their worth is never defined by the number on the scale, the size of their jeans, or the firmness of their belly. It will allow young girls to grow up in a world where they believe they are worthy, beautiful, and enough just as they are right now.

Speaking of feeling worthy, beautiful and enough, if you’ve been struggling with your own health, fitness, and body embracement goals, we want to help.

Strongest You Coaching is the only coaching program of its kind. Our coaches address not only training and nutrition, but mindset as well, which we believe is the key to unlocking the door to long-term success.

We are confident we can help you achieve the body and the life you want, from the inside out. Let’s put an end to the weight loss industry’s BS quick fixes and fads, and their insulting “promises” of making us less. We want to help you be more.

Here are just 6 ways in which completing the Strongest You Coaching program will help you be more. More awesome, more confident, more strong and fit, more healthy, more empowered… simply, more.

1. Heal your relationship with food.

As women we often have a tumultuous relationship with food. In fact, it’s reported that 80% of 10-year-old girls have been on a diet. 10 years old. From a very early age we start categorizing food as “good” or “bad” and therefore we are “being good” if we are eating “good” food, and we are “being bad” if we are eating “bad” food. This leads to a vicious cycle of guilt, shame, deprivation, bingeing, and always being “on” or “off” a diet. When we are “on” a diet, we deprive ourselves of most of our favorite foods. This is not a sustainable strategy for most of us, so we “white knuckle” our way through the diet until we simply cannot handle it anymore, and then we overindulge in foods we deem “bad,” feel guilty and shameful, and vow to “be stronger” next time. Sound familiar? Not anymore.

With Strongest You Coaching, we ease you into a more healthful diet, holding your hand every step of the way, so there’s no major overhaul. We also don’t believe that you have to avoid your favorite foods to have a healthful diet and see results. Instead, you’ll work closely with your Coach to develop your personal nutrition success strategy where you find your personal balance of healthful foods and more indulgent foods that will help you reach your goals without feeling deprived.

2. Heal your relationship with your body.

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and you thought, “I look amazing?” When was the last time you felt super confident and strong in your body? When was the last time you thanked your body for all that it does for you? If the answer is never, you’re not alone. We are taught to hate ourselves from the time we are little girls. We are valued in parts and pieces, and we are constantly being told that we should strive for this celebrity’s glutes or that celebrity’s lips.

Society has defined beauty in a context so narrow that we cannot possibly achieve it, but there is a multibillion-dollar weight loss and beauty industry ready to gobble up our money as we try. In Strongest You Coaching, we don’t believe there is anything wrong with valuing beauty. But in the words of GGS Advisory Board Member Erin Brown, “We help you expand your definition of beauty to include YOU.”

3. Improve your strength.

There is absolutely no question that Strongest You Coaching improves your physical strength. We have helped coaching clients triple their deadlift numbers, bang out multiple sets of pull-ups, and much more. Whether you’re new to lifting weights, or a seasoned veteran, we have you covered. You’ll receive helpful coaching cues and hints that will help you perform the exercises safely and effectively, helping you get maximum results in the least amount of time. Further, you’ll have the opportunity to take an unlimited number of videos of your lifts and upload them for your Coach to review so you never have to wonder if you’re performing exercises correctly.

4. Reach your aesthetic goals.

Women join the Strongest You Coaching programs with a wide variety of aesthetic goals. Some women want to lose body fat, others want to gain muscle mass, and some want to do a combination of the two. No matter your goals, your Coach will design a customized training program to help you reach them.

The important thing to remember is that this is NOT a “6-weeks-to-a-new-you!” program. You’ve probably tried that before, and even if it worked for you, the program you followed was probably not sustainable. This program is about helping you achieve your aesthetic goals in a sane and sustainable way, while keeping you safe and healthy. Your Strongest You Coach will NOT crash-diet you in an attempt to get short-term results.

5. Improve your relationship with your partner.

Many Strongest You Coaching clients report an improved relationship with their spouse in numerous areas during and after completing the program. They report increased vulnerability and intimacy due to feeling more comfortable in their skin, greater patience and understanding as their stress level decreases, and better communication skills as they start to own the power of their voice in a compassionate way.

6. Do what you love.

It’s no secret that women wear a crazy number of hats. We are wives, mothers, working professionals, sisters, daughters, aunts, and everything in between. We are constantly being pulled in a million directions, and everyone wants a piece of our time. Strongest You Coaching teaches you the importance of setting boundaries, and prioritizing self-care so that your needs and health don’t take a backseat to everyone else. We teach you the importance of saying “no” to things that you don’t want to do, so you gain the freedom to say “yes” to a life that you love.

My first encounters with casseroles were from a box, where you added hamburger meat or canned tuna to a mix of dried noodles, cooking liquid, and some mysterious seasoning packet. To say I loved these things was a big understatement.

As an adult, though, my tastes have changed, but my love of creamy, comforting casseroles hasn’t. This quick-cooking tuna-noodle version has joined my cold-weather dinner rotation!

Love the idea of a smoothie for breakfast, but wish it filled you up a little more? I hear you, and I’m totally with you. My main criteria for any breakfast, including smoothies, is one that isn’t going to leave my stomach grumbling a couple hours later.

My key to a good breakfast smoothie is making sure it has the power to carry me through the morning. One of the easiest ways to do this? Add a scoop of oats!
