I know, I know, you#8217;ve read/seen Fight Club, and Tyler Durden says that we#8217;re not all unique snowflakes, but he#8217;s wrong on this one. We come from different environments and backgrounds and we all have different goals and desires and abilities. There is no one training plan, exercise program, or piece of fitness advice that is perfect for everyone, equally. Each person must find what works for them./p
pSo when I tried to impart a universally-sound fitness principle, perhaps the only truly universally-applicable one of all – a title=”The Best Exercise There Is, Hands Down” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-best-exercise-there-is-hands-down/”the best exercise is the one you will do consistently/a – a few people […]

Studies seem to indicate that pure palmitic acid has negative health effects, so should we be avoiding palmitic acid-containing foods like butter, meat, or palm oil? Then, I explain the health effects of eating really fast. As you#8217;ll see, there are quite a few reasons to eat more slowly than quickly. I also include a few tips for fast eaters who want to slow down./p

pThis is something I have been trying to get to the bottom of recently. I have been reading about different saturated fatty acids and their effects on the body. One that always comes up is Palmitic acid. I read that #8220;Palmitic acid is […]

A few weeks ago Emily told us about the quickest, easiest way to clean a blender — one that takes mere seconds and doesn’t involve taking your blender pitcher apart. It was a forehead-smacking moment for me; what an obvious and delightful way to clean a blender! I often avoid using my blender to purée soups or to do other messy jobs; I hate taking it apart and scrubbing out the pitcher.

Well, this 30-second cleaning method means much faster, easier cleanup after smoothie-making and soup-pureeing. I tried it out for myself — let me show you!

120Let’s say you meet a new person at a party this weekend.Isn’t it interesting how you might say, “What do you do?” and they might reply, “I’m a marketing manager,” but if you dig — if you really connect — you might discover that they lived in Kenya for two years, they started a non-profit, and they’re getting their scuba certification? How often does that happen…vs. us just saying, “Oh, cool. Well, I’m going to get some celery…bye!I always admired people who had weird, fascinating backgrounds. For example, in college, one of my professors was a nuclear risk analyst before she became a psychiatrist specializing in trauma. She could make connections that the rest of us couldn’t even fathom.I decided to study a totally interdisciplinary set of courses, including psychology, decision-making, con men, deception, magic, seduction, risk, and human-computer interaction

The process really is quite simple, but it seems like a lot to keep track of. What type of vegetables do you use? What do you culture with #8211; salt, whey or freeze-dried culture? How do you make sure the culture doesn’t go bad during the fermentation process? How long, exactly, do those jars need to sit on my kitchen counter? And why bother culturing vegetables, anyway?/p
pConsuming probiotics and fermented foods has a title=”The Definitive Guide to Fermented Foods ” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/fermented-foods-health/#axzz2uSW4JcjB “numerous possible benefits/a. Plus, fermented vegetables are really delicious. Store-bought pickled veggies (like sauerkraut and pickles) are usually preserved in vinegar instead of a lactobacterial-salt slurry. This short-cut pickling method means no probiotics […]
