In the last few years, I’ve lost count of the huge number of emails I get from parents with kids who have special needs either asking for advice or explaining how ema title=”The Primal Blueprint Paperback Edition” href=”http://primalblueprint.com/products/The-Primal-Blueprint%3A-Updated-and-Expanded-%28Paperback-Edition%29.html” target=”_blank”The Primal Blueprint/a/em has made a significant difference for their children. pI’ll state the obvious here. I’m not a disability expert, but I’ve been moved and motivated by these parents’ emails. From a general health perspective, I’ve wondered how our modern lives could be contributing to the epidemic. Likewise, I’m curious how research can illuminate potential benefits of […]

But that#8217;s how we rectify the situation and get even more people reading these great blogs #8211; by calling attention to them. Now, not all of them are strictly Primal; some only give passing mention to the specifics of evolutionary health. All the […]

The subject was protein absorption, and it referred to something I#8217;d written several weeks past in a title=”Dear Mark: Leptin Resets, Cold Thermogenesis, and Safe Starches? ” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dear-mark-leptin-resets-cold-thermogenesis-and-safe-starches/”this post/a on Leptin Reset among other things. I had suggested that your body can only deal with about thirty grams of protein in one sitting. I immediately realized that this statement wasn#8217;t nuanced enough and might give the wrong impression, so I explained what I meant in a bit more detail a title=”Comment” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dear-mark-leptin-resets-cold-thermogenesis-and-safe-starches/#comment-826544″in the comment board/a. There’s a reason Tabata training has been dubbed the “4-minute fat-burning miracle workout.” Doing as little as one Tabata (4 minutes) can increase your aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, VO2 max, resting metabolic rate, and can help you burn more fat (and make you look 200 percent leaner) than a traditional 60-minute aerobic workout. Plus, you don’t need any equipment at all! In fact, using only your body is even more efficient since it eliminates time spent fumbling with buttons or tools. The moves in this workout are simple to do but cause some seriously heavy breathing—which is important since 20-second work intervals don’t allow much time for gradually building up your heart rate. Tabata Training Details Begin with a brief warm-up (spend 3-5 minutes with some basic moves like marches, stationary squats, and arm circles to prep your body)

Intermittent Fasting has become exceptionally popular over the last couple of months, which is probably both good and bad.
Good that it raises awareness of a style of eating that could help a LOT of people. Bad that people are already trying to make fasting more complex then it needs to be.
In my opinion it has also lost its way a bit. So today I thought I would share with you exactly what Eat Stop Eat style intermittent  fasting means to me…
It means taking a break from eating. That’s it. No pre-fast meals or post-fast meals. Just a break. Then you go back to eating as you normally would.
It means learning to go without. I’m not a fan of trying to cheat your way thought a fast. I don’t like the idea of chicken broth or beef broth or other ‘zero calorie’ foods. A large benefit of fasting is the lessons […]
