I’ve thought of about a million different ways to explain this…and the best I’ve come up with is a fictional story…
So here it goes.
Why Eat Stop Eat works well for women.
Janet first met Kevin when they were in College.
Kevin was 6′2″ and 205 pounds. While he wasn’t an ‘athlete’ he worked out regularly and maintained a fairly muscular build for his height.
Janet was 5′6″ and 135 pounds. In her youth she was involved in just about every sport imaginable. From field hockey and soccer to swimming and dance, Janet was active, as a result she had the typical ‘fit’ and athletic body that other women her age hated her for having!
Janet didn’t really have a weight issue during college. Sure, her weight increased and hovered around 140 pounds by her senior year, but for the most part she had it under control.
That is until she and Kevin got married and […]

The basis of Tabata Training is 4 minutes of intense interval training. What you are doing is taking an exercise we’ll use sprints as an example here. Sprint as hard as you can for 20 seconds Walk for 10 seconds Repeat 7 more times for a total of 8 sets. So what you have is a total of 4 minutes workout time. Tabata Training can be done with a number of different exercises the idea is to use an exercise that gets the whole body involved or at least the major muscle groups.Tabata Training can be done with Barbells, Dumbells, Kettlebells or just Bodyweight exercises. I’ll give you some other exercises and routines to try in a minute but first let me give you some background and how Tabatas work. Tabata Training was developed by Izumi Tabata (imagine that) at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo, Japan. […]

The entire KnuckleUp team is proud of Omar’s performance at the Fight To The Finish VI match. Omar dominated the fight throughout the 4 rounds (over 15 minutes on the Cage!), displaying amazing conditioning, strength, and technique.
The hard training absolutely paid off; Omar showed amazing skills, offsetting his opponent right from the beginning. Short after the bell rang, Omar took Casey to the ground with a beautiful takedown, and that was just the start.
The battle lasted for 4 rounds, which shows the level of conditioning of these athletes. At the end, however, while defending his guard, Omar accidentally hit Casey on the chin with an illegal kick.
The referee disqualified Omar, and gave Casey the title.
Even though we agree with the decision, and hope Casey’s injuries are only minor, it was clear that Omar won the fight.
Here are the videos to prove it:

I know, it’s summer.
The weather is warm, the steaks are sizzling on the bbq, the beer is flowing and the last thing you want to think about is sticking to your diet.

If this sounds like you, read on…

According to a new study, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and obesity are on the rise in Canadians of all ages. (same goes for you non-Canadians)
It’s so bad that for the first time in 2 centuries, Canadians can expect to die earlier than their parents.
And why, you may ask are Canadians dropping like flys on a bug zapper?
Because they are fat.

The authors of the study found that hypertension and diabetes are increasing most in those who were obese or overweight.
“Projections suggest that the rising prevalence of obesity in the current generation of adolescents will increase the prevalence of coronary heart disease by 5 to 16% in 2035, and may for the first time in […]

KnuckleUp was the main sponsor for Fight To The Finish VI

At 6:30pm, there were 100+ people in line trying to get in; the entire east section of the Outer Banks Mall parking lot was taken, forcing people to use the Outer Banks Hospital’s parking lot; 5 police cars and 1 ambulance completed the highly unusual scenario.
If it seems like I’m describing Michael Jackson’s funeral is because like me, you’ve never seem anything of such proportions in the Outer Banks. The AFL MMA Fight To The Finish VI was off to a great start.
The conservative 500 people limit imposed by the Nags Head Fire Marshal was reached 20 minutes after the doors were open, sending well over 150 people away, and it made a lot of people regret not buying a ticket earlier.
Inside, it was clear that the AFL had a really rough spot to work with: SeaMark left the building […]

What if half of what you have been told about building muscle mass is completely wrong? You see, building muscle is almost 100% about training and has very little to do with nutrition. The main thing that nutrition affects is gaining or losing body fat. The mainstream fitness publications would have you believe that you can eat your way to quick muscle gains. This simply is not the case. John Barban has created an exclusive video for the readers of this site, that you guys have to see!

[I like to look at ancient Greek and Roman statues as ideal proportions to shoot for. Although centuries have gone by, the proportions of these statues are still considered optimum by most of the population.]

Nobody does a better job marketing to amateur bodybuilders than the guys at T-Muscle.
And they may have outdone themselves with this program.
Just released this morning, people are already going nuts.
They are lining up to buy a supplement that costs 80USD and may only last for two weeks.
Prorate that over a year and we’re talking just over 2000USD.
And they’re begging to buy it.
Begging.
OH MY GOD THIS IS SO EXCITING I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS EVERY 10 SECONDS WHILE READING THE ARTICLE.

So, my question is…
What do we need to do to get the general public this interested in their own health & fitness?
What buttons need to be pushed?
Imagine how quickly America’s obesity epidemic would be turned around if everyone got this excited about a new exercise  nutrition program.
300 million fitness junkies.

Suferrin’ Succotash! Remember that saying from Sylvester the Cat in the Looney Tunes cartoon? That was pretty much the only time I had heard the word succotash and as a kid I had no idea what it was or meant. Come to find out succotash is food (no wonder why I liked the saying!) The Missus had me believing this dish originated in the South, which would make sense why I had never heard of it, apart from the cartoon. But during my research on what the name means I found out it all began in the Rhode Island area, if you can believe that. The name is taken from the Naragansett Indian word msickquatash, “boiled whole kernels of corn,” from the Narragansett language once spoken on Narragansett Bay, which is present-day Rhode Island.
How ’bout that for research!
Succotash is a dish consisting primarily of corn and Lima beans, though now […]
